As part of its longstanding partnership, Nehemiah HDFC (an affiliate of East Brooklyn Congregations (EBC)) and Monadnock Development LLC (the “Development Team”) are joint-venturing to develop the Nehemiah Site 26a Project (“Site 26a,” the “Project” or the “Development”).

The Project involves the construction of an eight-story building with approximately 184 affordable units under HPD’s Senior Affordable Rental Apartments (SARA) program. All of the units will be rented to seniors aged 62 years and older, earning 40% AMI or below; 30% of these units are set aside for homeless seniors.

A 9,300 square foot landscaped courtyard will be provided at the rear of the building, and 2,500 square feet of community facility space will be provided on the ground floor. Other amenities include a gym, laundry room, bike storage and various onsite social welfare services. The Development will benefit from Section 8 Project-Based Vouchers issued by NYCHA.

Closing on construction financing occurred in April 2024, with construction currently underway. Marketing and lease up will begin in 2026.
